About Youssry Henien

Based in the UAE/FRANCE, Youssry Henien serves as Head of Middle East and Africa at BNP. An equestrian sports enthusiast, Mr. Henien publishes and edits the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Polo Club Directory. Establishing the directory in October of 2012, Youssry Henien and his son Henry Henien work to raise awareness of the sport of polo and draw new fans of the game.

After completing high school in Cairo, Mr. Henien attended the American University of Beirut, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. In addition, from Saudi Arabia he directed a royal family office. The Dubai business leader’s responsibilities was to include chairing board meetings, assessing the job performance of the firm’s CEO, approving yearly budgets, and administering firm objectives and policies.

Mr. Henien’s affinity for polo and its roots in the Gulf region led to his decision to launch the GCC Polo Directory. For the past two decades, Mr. Henien has traveled to destinations across the Middle East, North America, South America, and Europe to attend polo matches featuring elite players of the sport. Working to build the GCC Polo Directory into a leading resource, Youssry Henien aims to educate readers about the sport’s historical significance, promote polo clubs, and publicize tournaments.

In addition to his work advancing polo in the Middle East, Mr. Henien enjoys swimming and reading. Having received an invitation from the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Honduras, Mr. Henien and his son attended inauguration ceremonies for the President of Honduras.
